CINCINNATI - Social Media Day is an opportunity to celebrate the evolution of social media and technology.
This is the third year for the event, which was started by the website Mashable.com in 2010.
Hundreds of meetups are organized across the globe, where people can meet face to face and network with others in their city.
Last year, Mashable named Cincinnati the " Most Social City " after a video submission by Northern Kentucky University law student Blair Ward. The video demonstrated social media efforts in the city, including its use by local sports stars Chad Ochocinco and Brandon Phillips.
This year's Social Media Day for the Tri-State will take place on the Purple People Bridge on Saturday, June 30, starting at 5 p.m. The party kicks off at 6 p.m. and then moves to Jefferson Hall until 9 p.m.
If planning to attend, organizers ask that you RSVP so they can keep track of attendance. Find out more on how to RSVP here .
