The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious ceremonies in the entertainment world. This Hollywood-studded event is where the most distinguished actors and actresses of the time gather to celebrate each other’s hard work and accomplishments … at the most elegant location, wearing the most expensive clothing and jewelry and eating a gourmet dinner made by the finest chefs in the country.
Ever wondered what it would be like to attend a party like this? Now you can, at the People Working Cooperatively’s Salute to the King, part of a national grassroots program that allows charities to host glam fundraising parties on Oscar Sunday.
PWC brings the Academy Awards to our city with a five-star Hollywood evening featuring a red carpet welcome, cocktails, appetizers, a gourmet meal, emcees from 9 On Your Side and the Academy Awards live on a giant screen.
All of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit agency’s Modifications for Mobility Program, which provides low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners with important home modifications to keep them living safely in their own homes. $150 per person; tables of 10 are $2,000. Raffle tickets: $25 each or $100 for five. 5:30 p.m.-midnight. Sunday, Feb. 24. Hilton Cincinnati Netherland, 35 W. Fifth St., Downtown. 513-351-7921, pwchomerepairs.org .
