Larry Shue’s 1984 comedy "The Foreigner" is one of the funniest plays you’re likely to find on any stage. When painfully shy “Froggy” LeSeuer accompanies a friend on a fishing trip in rural Georgia, he tries to avoid social interaction by letting everyone think he’s a foreigner who doesn’t speak English.
As a result, he overhears all kinds of things he shouldn’t from people who think he can’t understand them. The Commonwealth Theatre Company at Northern Kentucky University is offering this laugh-filled show as its second production of its summer dinner theater season. You can enjoy dinner Tuesday through Saturday at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show at 8 p.m. (Sunday evening is earlier.) With veteran local director Ed Cohen staging The Foreigner, it’s sure to be an evening overflowing with entertainment.
INFO : Thursday-Sunday. Through July 22. Dinner and show: $30. NKU Corbett Auditorium, 205 Nunn Drive. Highland Heights. 859-572-5464.
