Looking for something to do this weekend? WCPO and CityBeat have teamed up to bring you the top 9 weekend things to do in the Tri-State.

1. Watch Some Playoff Hockey:
No, this is not a suggestion to drive to Columbus, the 2010 ECHL champion Cincinnati Cyclones are right here in town this weekend in the first round of this year's ECHL playoffs. They host Reading Friday and Saturday night with, of course, some good deals. Friday is $1 pizza and Saturday is $1 hot dogs. Tickets are real affordable too. If you haven't taken the opportunity to get out and see Cincinnati's professional hockey squad, skate to it this weekend. Get ticket info by clicking here .

2. Use Your Salt-N-Pepa:
No, I'm not talking about the condiments on your kitchen table, I'm talking about the hip hop duo from the 80s whose hit "Push It" can still be heard on ringtones everywhere. Hip Hop's first ladies come to the Queen City this Friday along with Naughty By Nature, Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick for the Legends of Hip Hop Tour. The Cintas Center plays host to this musical nostalgia, complete with all the classics. Who could forget "Shoop?" Get details on the show here .

3. Laugh With Cereal:
Comedian John Evans jokes about the happenings of his life. For instance, his recent marriage has opened him up to cynicism about dating in general: He recalls how his wife told him he looked like Count Chocula when they first met. A regular on The Bob & Tom Radio Show, Evans has also appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham and NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He will be recording an album while performing this weekend at Go Bananas in Montgomery. Play with the details here .

4. Hang Out With Strings Attached:
The new show at the Know Theatre The Dragon is not a no strings attached affair. The "actors" in this play about a town oppressed by, what else, a dragon are actually marionettes working closely with Madcap Puppets. The plot follows Lancelot as he rides into this town of people that can't understand what true freedom is. A dragon slaying quest ensues and Lancelot attempts to show them the right way to live. A very unique show that won't let you down with the strings attached to attending it. Get a review of the show and ticket details here .

5. Have A Drink In Every State:
No, having 50 drinks and traveling to all 50 states to do it in one weekend is not in fact the goal here. Instead try MOTR pub's “Nearly 50 Kegs From Roughly 50 States in Approximately 50 Days Beer Fest” that will tap a different beer from a different state daily through May. Get out this weekend and enjoy something from Alabama or perhaps Alaska. Maybe even Idaho. Get the details on this fun festival here .

6. Relive The Wonder Years:
The band The Wonder Years is one of the biggest names in pop punk, offering a positive, fun sound with poetic lyrics telling tales of the trials and tribulations of life. This fivesome puts on a creative show with blunt offerings of the realistic hardships that are out there behind some melodic tunes that are sure to pull you in multiple directions of musical entertainment. They bring their talents to the Mad Hatter with three other acts on Sunday. Get a review of the group and details on their show here .

7. Weave The Weekend Into Your Memory:
The highly acclaimed International Quilt Festival sews a spot in the Tri-State this weekend at the Duke Energy Center. Be sure to fluff your pin cushion, arm yourself with your thimble and wear your comfiest pair of walking shoes as you stroll through aisle upon aisle of cotton, patchwork and thread for a $10 daily pass. View the latest showcase of products that deal with sewing, stitching, embroidering, knitting, artwork, patterns, creating teddy bears and even making dresses for dolls. Weave the details into your memory by clicking here .

8. Break A Stereotype:
Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel from 1985, The Handmaid’s Tale, tells a frightening story about a woman trapped in a not-too-distant future in which a conservative overthrow of the U.S. government has created the Republic of Gilead, a theocracy in which women are subjugated to stereotypical roles. Most particularly, the tale’s narrator is a “handmaid,” a woman whose sole task is to bear children. Check out this very unique plot in play form presented by the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company this weekend. Details here .

9. Order Gourmet Chinese:
In the next few months, CityBeat’s dining crew is going to periodically revisit some classic Cincinnati restaurants. What defines a classic? Well, if longevity is a factor, Hyde Park’s China Gourmet certainly qualifies. This 34-year-old eatery doesn't boast your typical gigantic Chinese food menu, but with traditional favorites like Mongolian Beef to unique offerings like Szechuan Eggplant, the choices don't dissapoint. Read a full review of this excellent dining destination here .
