As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, there are fewer chicken wings available, and they will cost you more.

Americans are expected to eat 1.23 billion wings when the San Francisco 49ers face off against the Baltimore Ravens on Feb. 3.

This year there will be 12 million fewer wings than last year.

The decline is due to a rise in corn and animal feed prices amid a severe summer drought.

The shrinking supply means the price for wings will be the highest ever at about $2.11 a pound; up 12 percent from this time last year.

You may want to consider going heavy on the nachos and beef, rather than the wings this year.
