Police: 1 person injured in Pendleton Co. bridge collapse

PENDLETON COUNTY, Ky. - At least one person was injured when a small bridge collapsed in Pendleton County, Ky., Sunday evening.

According to police, a man was hauling hay when a small bridge he was riding across collapsed. The man and his vehicle fell approximately 15 to 20 feet, police say.

Pendleton County emergency dispatch indicated a medical helicopter was initially called to the scene but it was asked to stand down, and did not transport anyone.

The bridge, which is being described as a small pathway connecting a home to a roadway, is located on Lightfoot Fork Road, which is just north of Falmouth.

The extent of the man's injuries was not known and his name was not provided by police.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
