DRY RIDGE, Ky. - A woman was killed in a collision in Grant County on northbound I-75 Wednesday afternoon.
The Dry Ridge Post of the Kentucky State Police says the crash happened around 1 p.m. at the 165 mile marker of northbound I-75.
Police say Jacob Evens, 29, of Owensboro, was traveling northbound in a 1999 Honda four-door car when he lost control and his vehicle struck a white 2011 Ford Ranger pickup truck which was parked on the right side of the interstate. The pickup truck was operated by Danny Marsh, 67, of Boone County, who had stopped to assist on another unrelated collision and was not in the truck at the time of the collision.
Evens' passenger and wife, Nora Green, 28, of Corbin, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Grant County coroner.
Evens was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash. His condition has not been released.
Marsh was not injured in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation and officials say it is possible weather played a role in the crash.
