CINCINNATI - A lunchtime Halloween costume contest for children and adults will be held Oct. 31 at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati.
The contest is part of a slate of spooky events slated for that day at the plaza. School groups, day care centers, youth groups, families and downtown office workers are encouraged to attend for a little midday fun.
The costume contest will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Celebrity judges will award prizes in seven categories: Funniest, scariest, most creative, cutest kid costume, best couple, best team (three or more people in themed or matching costumes), and best overall.
Prizes include trophies for all categories, along with $10 or $20 gift cards, depending on the category, and a $50 gift card for best overall.
Also, face painting by Fabulous Faces will be offered from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for prices ranging from $5 to $10.
Additionally, Cappel’s will give away free novelty toys and prizes to all children.
