Man killed by train near Crittenden

CRITTENDEN, Ky. - A man was apparently struck by a train and killed Saturday afternoon while walking along railroad tracks near Crittenden, Ky.

The incident happened at about 5:55 p.m. Saturday when a crew with the Norfolk Southern Railway called police to let them know they might have hot a pedestrian in Grant County.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office later discovered the body of a young white male near the tracks in the 2900 block of Dixie Highway, according to a police report.

The victim's name hasn't yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. He is believed to be about 20 years old.

The incident is under investigation, and the Sheriff's Office is talking to the victim's companion to get more details.
