CINCINNATI - Longtime journalist Nick Clooney is speaking Tuesday at the College of Mount Saint Joseph.

He is speaking to freshman students as part of the Mount’s Freshman Author Series. He'll discuss his son's screenplay “Good Night and Good Luck,” which was a part of required summer reading for incoming freshmen.

The screenplay, written by George Clooney, explored the conflict between journalist Edward R. Murrow and U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy during the early years of broadcast journalism.

Later, the public is invited to hear Nick Clooney speak about his journalism career during a free forum. It starts at 7 p.m. at the College of Mount St. Joseph’s College Theatre. He'll also talk about broadcast ethics, his thoughts on current journalism, and the 1953 McCarthy hearings.
