Week expected to end with rain snow, high winds

CINCINNATI - People who are planning to drive to their holiday destinations later this week might encounter a stumbling block thanks to Mother Nature.

Current weather forecasting models indicate more rain and possibly snow are expected overnight, bringing with it high winds.

Winds are expected to be 20 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.

The National Weather service has issued a Wind Advisory for the entire Tri-State until 10 p.m. Friday.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Motorists should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

A wind advisory is issued for average wind speeds between 31 and 39 mph, or for frequent wind gusts between 46 and 57 mph.

On Friday, it will be partly cloudy and blustery, with highs only in the lower 30s.

It will be mostly clear Friday night through Saturday night. Lows are expected in the lower 20s, with highs in the upper 30s.
