FORT MITCHELL, Ky. - All lanes of traffic are now back open on I-71/75 near the Buttermilk Pike exit following a multiple vehicle accident involving a semi carrying thousands of gallons of maple syrup.
The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday on northbound I-71/75 near the 186.3 mile marker in Fort Mitchell, Ky.
Police say two vehicles and one semi truck were involved in the crash. The semi was carrying thousands of gallons of Hungry Jack maple syrup. Thousands of containers, as well as syrup, spilled on the interstate, which made the cleanup process difficult.

One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. No other injuries were reported.
