CINCINNATI - High-profile attorney Eric Deters has found a new radio station to call home after he resigned from his job at Real Talk 1160 last week amid conflict with the station’s management.
Deters is joining ClassX Radio to host the morning drive program from 6 a.m. through 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, the station announced Monday. The station that got its start through an unlicensed radio transmission operates three now FCC-sanctioned FM stations in the Tri-State: 88.9 FM (WMWX) in Cincinnati and Indiana, 89.1 FM (WKCX) in Northern Kentucky and 89.3 FM (WYNS) in Warren County.
“ClassX and the Bulldog are a matching made in radio heaven,” said that station’s general manager, Bill Spry in a news release. “Two rebels. One committed to traditional sounding rock and classic rock. The other committed to talk show superbity."
Deters, who hosted “Bulldog Nation” on Real Talk 1160 for more than a year, resigned Aug. 22 after a disagreement with his operations manager, Rob Williams, according to an Aug. 23 post on his Facebook page .
Deters said his run was over at Real Talk 1160 because he said he would rather resign that take direction from Williams — who, Deters said, did not understand the time constraints of “The Bulldog’s” law career.
ClassX Radio will reportedly put a studio in Deters’ law offices so he can do the radio show and “walk out the door to take care of [his] clients,” according to the news release.
ClassX Radio isn’t exactly the TV deal Deters mentioned he expected after last week’s resignation, but Spry said in the release that the station plans to tie in his TV ambitions with podcasts and videocasts.
Deters’ new show is expected to hit the airwaves in two or three weeks, according to the release.
Deters, whose license was suspended in Ohio and Kentucky earlier this year, left another radio job in June 2011 when he served as a weekend/fill-in talk show host for 700WLW-AM.
