INDEPENDENCE, Ky. - Police responded to a bomb threat at an Independence school Friday afternoon.

The superintendent of Summit View Middle School says a note was found indicating a threat around 1 p.m. at the middle school, located at 5002 Madison Pike.

The note was found in one of the boys' bathrooms, according to the superintendent.

Students were evacuated and taken outside of the school as a precaution.

Police had a K-9 search the area to try and locate any threats, but did not find any.

Independence police believe they have found the student responsible for leaving the note. They have not released any information about their identity, or if any charges will be filed. They have also not released the contents of the note.

No one was hurt.
