CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is ready to open its newest exhibit to the public.

Cat Canyon will open Saturday, June 30 allowing zoo visitors to get a more up close and personal encounter with the large felines.

Major renovations were done to the original exhibit which opened in 1934 as Tiger Grotto to include waterfalls, rock work, a wooden bridge and lush play areas for the animals.

Cat Canyon will now be home to white tigers, snow leopards and Malayan tigers.

One of the highlights is a new viewing area for visitors to stand eye-to-eye with the cats seperated by just an inch of glass.
