UNION, Ky. - A Northern Kentucky woman lost control of her vehicle and drove through two residents' yards, landing in an in-ground pool, Wednesday night.

The incident happened in the 10000 block of Irish Way in Union, Ky. around 6:30 p.m.

Police say Chilaru Watnabe, 44, of Edgewood backed her 2011 Toyota Sienna out of a driveway and lost control of the vehicle. She backed up through the yards of two residences, running over lawns, a wooden fence and lawn furniture before her van landed in a pool. The vehicle was submerged under 8 feet of water.

The homeowner, Shawn Neace, was eating dinner with his 3-year-old when he heard the commotion outside.  He told 9 News he originally thought the noise was due to a small plane crash. Neace and his brother-in-law, who lives next door, pulled Watnabe out of the sinking van.

"We both just pulled her out of the car, and at first she said 'I'm OK,' when we let go of her she went to sort of fall down, but we just had her sit down after that, but she actually stayed pretty calm through the whole thing," Shawn Neace said.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officials have not released any other details at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
