For many this holiday season, childhood memories of reindeer, snow and presents fill our minds with holiday cheer.
Some may recall tiptoeing down the stairs to peek at a mountain of gifts, as a surge of excitement bubbled over them.
Many children across the Tri-State might not have been able to experience that same sense of excitement and holiday cheer without your help.
Channel 9 and local radio hosts held a holiday toy drive for children around the region Saturday.
Holiday Toy Team 9 was held at six different Kroger locations around the Tri-State on Dec. 1, beginning at 6 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m.
The goal was to bring in a total of 9,000 toys by the end of the event.
Team Comet representative and 9 News personality Kendall Herold reported her team had collected 905 toys in 16 shopping carts at the Harrison Kroger Marketplace.
Team Dancer reported it had bested last year's tally by bringing in more than 700 toys at the Newport Kroger.
At the Kroger Liberty Township, Team Prancer collected 652 toys for children.
Team Blitzen at the Delhi Kroger collected a total of 1,110 toys.
The toys collected by the other teams are still being counted.
Each location had a different team of 9 News personalities partnered with radio show hosts that were competing to pull in the most toys.
