COVINGTON, Ky. - A new safety measure is coming to Northern Kentucky highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is installing median cable barriers on Interstate 275 in Boone County.
They'll begin at the I-71 and I-75 interchange to the Carroll Cropper Bridge.
The goal is to prevent crossover crashes from taking place.
"Studies have shown they have helped reduce crossover crashes tremendously so whatever safety feature we can get in our area we are excited to have it," said Nancy Wood, spokeswoman for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Crews will begin installing the barriers on Monday, Sept. 13.
Later this year, they will also be placed in Kenton and Campbell counties.
