CALIFORNIA, Ky. - Campbell County Police are investigating an accident after a vehicle was found in a creek in Northern Kentucky Monday evening.

Police say a vehicle was found upside down in a creek bed in the 2400 block of Carthage Road in California, Ky. around 10:30 p.m.  The creek is about 40 feet below Carthage Road.

Officials say no one was inside the vehicle when fire crews arrived at the scene. They say it's possible the driver took off after the accident, but they don't know if the individual was injured.

A witness told police they saw the driver.  He is described as a white male in his forties or fifties.  Police said they do have a person of interest in mind.

No other information is available at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.
