A Boston company has created a material that changes colors when it comes into contact with date rape drugs.
The firm, Drink Savvy, wants to produce cups and glassware that it would sell to bars in an attempt to reduce date rape, according to ABC News .
The company is trying to raise $50,000 so it can begin manufacturing the products and sell them online. It has posted a fundraising appeal on the website IndieGoGo.com.
Date rape drugs -- including GHB, Ketamine and Rohypnol -- are odorless, colorless and tasteless. People typically aren’t aware when their drinks have been spiked.
