CINCINNATI - Coffee is apparently doing more than keeping people awake.

A study of 1 million men and women finds that those who drink four cups of coffee a day are much less likely to contract mouth or throat cancer than those who don't drink or seldom drink coffee.

The study by the American Cancer Society indicates more research is needed to determine why coffee is effective in protecting against these cancers.
