CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio - Seventeen companies showed up for the Workforce One job fair in Clermont County looking for workers in health care, manufacturing, customer service and more. Monday's event was the biggest job fair this year for the one-stop employment resource center.
"There are more jobs out there than there were a year ago," said Cathy Sahlfeld, a business service representative with Workforce One. Sahlfeld says the available jobs are a sign that the economy is turning around.
"The job seekers are thrilled," said Sahlfeld. "Anybody hiring is always great news. And the job seekers are thrilled to have companies here who are actually hiring."
Joe Schlueter from Louiso Trucking in Batavia worked a booth at the job fair in search of five drivers.
"We're basically looking for drivers with some experience," said Schlueter. "We're a small company so insurance requires that they have at least two years experience."
Other open positions include opportunities for machinists, health care providers, sales representatives, collection agents, and customer service representatives.
"If they walk away with one good employee as a result of this, it's a great thing for them," Sahlfeld said.
If you missed the job fair on Monday, you can visit Workforce One in Clermont County in person at 756 Old State Route 74 , Cincinnati, OH 45245 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to find out which employers might be the best fit for you in your job search.
