BATAVIA, Ohio - Ohio Gov. John Kasich along with JobsOhio President and CIO John Minor, and Huhtamaki Executive Vice President of North America will be in Batavia for a major economic announcement Tuesday.

The Finnish firm Huhtamaki is purchasing half of the 1.8 million square foot former Ford transmission plant.

The new development is expected to create 237 full-time jobs within about four years, with average salaries of $35,772.

The latest numbers 9 On Your Side has learned is the company will pay $7.6 million for 900,000 square feet. That’s $2 million more than the value of the property.

Another $27 million could be spent on property renovations and improvements. An additional $30 million would be spent on machinery and equipment.
