CINCINNATI - Cincinnati's fight against breast cancer is $525,000 richer after a walk to raise money on Sunday.
Almost 10,000 people participated in the Making Strides five-mile walk Sunday afternoon.
The event started at Yeatman's Cove and went through downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
More donations are likely as participants in the walk can still ask for donations through the Making Strides website here .
9 News anchor Carol Williams helped kick off the walk.
Enough money was raised to sponsor 880 free mammograms over the next year to women who can't afford them.
The American Cancer Society will split the $80,000 among seven area hospitals, including Jewish Hospital, Christ Hospital and the West Chester Medical Center.
