BURLINGTON, Ky. - A child is recovering after being struck by a vehicle in Northern Kentucky Friday morning.
Police say Daulton Oliver, 13, was hit by a vehicle in the 6400 block of Camp Ernst Road in Burlington at about 6:55 a.m., just a short distance from a middle school in the area. Oliver was walking southbound along the northbound lane of the road when he turned suddenly and started to cross the street, according to police.
Gregory Scully, 56, of Burlington, was driving his Honda Accord northbound when Scully braked and swerved left to avoid Oliver but clipped him with the passenger side mirror.
Oliver was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence with reported minor injuries. There is no crosswalk or other traffic control devices at the scene of the accident.
Scully stayed at the scene of the accident. Charges have not been filed at this time.
Authorities have not released any additional details about the accident at this time.
