Child, man die in Owen County house fire

OWENTON, Ky. - Police say two people are dead following an early morning house fire in Owen County Friday.
According to Kentucky State Police, the fire broke out around 5:25 a.m. at a residence in Owenton, Ky. When authorities arrived, two people were found dead at the scene; Brock Morgan, 31, of Greensburg, Ind. and a 2-year-old child.
The mother of the child, Katherine Perry, 30, was transported by a medical helicopter to University Hospital. Officials have not released any details regarding her current condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but based on preliminary efforts police believe it began in the kitchen of the home.
No other information is available at this time.
