House fire injures one in Covington

COVINGTON, Ky. - A multi-family house fire in Covington sent one person to University Hospital Sunday evening.
Crews arrived at a house on the 1700 block of Scott St. shortly after 5 p.m. and found it "fully involved" in flames.
Firefighters said the second and third floors of the house sustained heavy damage because residents tried to put out the fire on their own and hesitated calling for help.
Five people have been displaced because of the fire, firefighters said.
The extent of the person's injuries is currently unknown and firefighters continue to investigate the cause of the blaze.
