FLORENCE, Ky. - A local 'Hunger Games' star is working to raise money for the victim of a car crash in his hometown.
Union native Josh Hutcherson is auctioning off five chances to go to dinner with him. All proceeds will go toward the family of Abby Marsh, who was injured in a May car accident.
Marsh is a rising senior at Ryle High School, Josh's alma mater. Marsh and Hutcherson both played soccer at the school. Marsh suffered a broken neck in the car accident. The 17-year-old is currently paralyzed from the shoulders down.
The Abby Marsh Trust Fund is holding five separate auctions for a chance to have dinner at an undisclosed Tri-State restaurant with Hutcherson. Each winner, plus a guest, will all join the movie star for dinner on Saturday, Aug. 18.
Friends of Abby Marsh are also hosting 'Marsh Madness' at Turfway Park in Florence on Aug. 18. The fundraiser includes live music, food, drinks, raffles and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 per person, $45 per couple and $15 for those under 15 years old.
Tickets are being sold at the Florence Government Center at the Public Services counter Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can also call Tim Aubrey for tickets at 859-468-9548.
