CRESCENT SPRINGS, Ky. - Duke Energy customers in Crescent Springs, Ky. may see an increase in their gas and electric bills to pay for 911 services.
Crescent Springs City Council is near passage of a monthly fee that would equal 2 percent of residents' bills. It's expected to raise $200,000 a year.
The current $4.25 a month surcharge paid by Cincinnati Bell customers would go away if the new fee is approved.
The change is because fewer and fewer people are using land lines opting for cellphones instead.
