EDGEWOOD, Ky. - With record heat hitting the Tri-State it's not surprising that festival organizers are bracing for lower than average attendance.
"You have to think about it, rain hurts, hot weather hurts, it's never going to be perfect, so you hope people will come out anyway and support the festival, and we're planning on it," said St. Pius Parish Festival chairman Tony Schutt.
The St. Pius Parish Festival started Friday and runs through Sunday.
Festival organizers have made changes to accommodate the heat.
A misting station has been brought in and more air conditioned areas of the church are open to the public.
The St. Pius Parish Festival opens at 6 p.m. Saturday and runs until 12 a.m. Sunday. It reopens at 5 p.m. Sunday and closes at 11 p.m.
