Developers break ground on new N.Ky. upscale apartment complex

NEWPORT, Ky. - An upscale Newport apartment building broke ground Thursday morning, kicking off the second phase of a Northern Kentucky development plan.
Newport officials held a groundbreaking ceremony at 400 Riverboat Row at 9 a.m., which began construction on Vue 180 — a 93-unit apartment complex complete with structured parking. The company has developed a riverfront development plan, which will bring new attractions and living to the Newport area.
The $15.6 million project is located immediately west of the SouthShore Condominium high rise. Both the SouthShore Condominiums and Vue 180 are developed by Capital Investment Group, Inc.
The five-story apartment will be completed in 12 to 15 months, developers said.
