BURLINGTON, Ky. - Workers at the Boone County Animal Shelter are hoping that one special cat, they’ve named, “Mr. Kitty,” is eventually adopted.
The 8-year-old feline once belonged to a Boone County soldier who was recently called up for deployment.
He was going to take his cat with him but the move would have been too costly.
Sgt. Jim Ball with the Boone County Animal Care and Control says the cat, who is neutered and mild-mannered, is definitely adoptable.
“He’s a little overweight,” Ball says, laughing. “But (he’s) a good cat.”
Because he is neutered, the animal shelter is waiving his adoption fees, which is for any cat or kitten that’s been spayed or neutered.
“We do waive the adoption fees but you still get the benefit of all the adoption package, of it being micro-chipped and up to date on shots,” Ball said.
If you are interested in adopting Mr. Kitty or any other pets, contact the Boone County Shelter at (859) 586-5285.
