N.Ky. middle school teacher investigated for inappropriate contact with students

TAYLOR MILL, Ky. - A male Woodland Middle School teacher with more than 20 years experience is under investigation for allegedly inappropriately touching multiple female students.

"We had allegations that came late last week that were brought to the attention of our school resource officer," Taylor Mill Police Chief Steve Knauf said.

The allegations surfaced after the father of a sixth-grade student went to authorities and told them his daughter claimed she was inappropriately touched by the teacher. At least two other students have come forward with similar allegations, police say.

The teacher, whose name has not been released because no charges have been filed at this time, has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school.

Knauf told 9 On Your Side that a detective from his department was interviewing the accusers, the teacher and any possible witnesses in the case.

Knauf said the allegation is that "there had been some inappropriate touching done by a teacher to a female student."

An administrator for the Kenton County School District said the district won't comment on personnel matters.
