UNION, Ky. (AP) - A state park in Northern Kentucky is taking suggestions as it looks to name its newest bison.
Big Bone Lick State Historic Site says it will announce the winning name for the bison heifer on Dec. 1 during a special holiday gathering starting at 10 a.m. at the park's visitor center. Guests will have a chance to see and learn about the bison.
The deadline for online voting is Nov. 30.
The park will also offer door prizes and have discounts at its gift shop on Dec. 1.
The park features a bison herd, as well as life-size replicas of mastodons and bison. The museum there has collections of bones from ancient creatures once attracted to the mineral springs of the area.
