Driver injured in N.Ky. flatbed truck accident

VERONA, Ky. - One man is severely injured after he crashed a flatbed truck in Northern Kentucky Monday morning.
A flatbed truck towing a minivan was traveling on Verona Mudlick Road in Verona, Ky., when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided into a fence around 10 a.m., according to Verona Fire Chief David Jones. The truck overturned and the minivan came off the flatbed and overturned as well.
When emergency crews got to the scene, they found the driver trapped in the truck and it took almost an hour to extricate him, Jones said. The driver was awake and responsive during the rescue process, Jones added.
Emergency crews transported the driver to University Hospital where he is being treated for severe injuries, according to poilce.
Police have not released any additional details about the accident or the identity of the driver.
