One adult suffered from smoke inhalation after a one-alarm fire occurred in the Westwood neighborhood of Cincinnati Tuesday.
The Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center received a call at approximately 11:30 a.m. Tuesday that an oven fire had broken out in the 3300 block of McHenry Avenue, according to District Fire Chief Marc E. Monahan.
Fire and heavy smoke were located on the second floor of a three-story apartment building. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and were able to quickly bring the fire under control, limiting the damage to the apartment when the fire began, said Monahan.
Two adults had evacuated the apartment before firefighters arrived at the scene and the Red Cross has stepped in to assist them.
Damage to the building is estimated at $15,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
