Westwood to get new fire station

CINCINNATI - The community of Westwood will soon have a new fire station.
Work is already underway on a new 18,000 square foot station at 2487 Harrison Avenue where an old apartment building once stood.
A Westwood board member says the neighborhood had one of the busiest stations in the city and one fire truck isn't meeting the needs of the community.
City leaders will be at the new site to officially break ground at 10 a.m Thursday.
The new building replaces the old station just 1.5 miles away that is 105 years old.
