If you missed the official Final Friday opening reception for Fly Your Own Freak Flag a few weeks ago —whether because of foul weather conditions, power outage issues, or maybe you were just waiting to see it as part of the annual Northside Parade — the folks at Thunder-Sky are giving you another opportunity.

As part of this coming Northside Second Saturday, they will have a reception July 14 from 6 to 9 p.m., exhibiting more than 70 flags by artists from as far away as Japan.

The term “Freak” is employed (as so many of Thunder-Sky’s exhibition titles are) with tongue firmly in cheek — yet it’s also an assertion of empowerment. Invoking the spirit of the gallery’s namesake Raymond Thunder-Sky, curators Bill Ross and Keith Banner encouraged artists to showcase and celebrate their weirdness. Perhaps there is no better place to do that than in Northside.

Through Aug. 11. Thunder-Sky, Inc. 4573 Hamilton Ave., Northside. 513-823-8914, raymondthundersky.org
