OWENSBORO, Ky. (AP) — Owensboro officials say the city's largest private employer plans an expansion that will add more than 300 new jobs.
Mayor Ron Payne told the Messenger-Inquirer ( http://bit.ly/13xp2KC) on Friday that U.S. Bank Home Mortgage will invest $15.2 million in an expansion that will add 332 jobs in the next three years.
With the addition jobs, the company will employ 2,203 workers.
The newspaper reports it will be the first time since the early 1970s that a private employer has more than 2,000 workers.
