OPELOUSAS, La. - Bengals reserve safety Marvin White was arrested on charges of simple assault and disturbing the peace Thursday in his hometown of Opelousas, Louisiana.

According to the Opelousas Daily-World and Pro-Football Talk, White was taken into custody after a dispute at his child's day care center. According to the sheriff in St. Landry Parish, White became verbally abusive to employees when they assumed he was the boyfriend of the child's mother. The sheriff says White was asked to leave, then made threats to employees. Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said management at the Day Care Center called police who then arrested White.

Marvin White played 3 games for the Bengals in 2010, recording 1 tackle. He was signed as a free agent during the season. He is eligible to become a free agent once the NFL lockout ends. He was originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
