FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Sherwood Brown scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Florida Gulf Coast to a 73-54 win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday.

The 6-foot-4 Brown became the first Florida Gulf Coast player to record a double-double in four straight games. The Eagles (13-8, 5-3 Atlantic Sun Conference) snapped a two-game losing streak.

Florida Gulf Coast held the Norse to 29.2 percent shooting (7 of 24) from the floor in the first half to claim a 43-23 halftime lead. Brown, who made of 11 of 17 from the floor and knocked down five 3-pointers, scored 16 points in the first half.

Christophe Varidel finished with 12 points and Chase Fieler added 10 for the Eagles, who shot 50 percent (26 of 52) for the game.

Eshaunte Jones scored 22 points for Northern Kentucky (4-11, 2-5), which has lost two straight. Ernest Watson had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
