CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Bengals fans not able to make it to Paul Brown Stadium for Sunday's "win and in" game against the Baltimore Ravens will be able to watch the game on local television.
The Bengals declared the game a sellout Wednesday morning.
"Our fans have made a tremendous response this week to our sales efforts, and we thank the entire community for its support of the Bengals," said Katie Blackburn, the team's executive vice-president. "We're pleased that the game will be on television for everyone, and we look forward to the fans at Paul Brown Stadium giving us a great home field advantage for a very important game against Baltimore."
After selling only 41,273 tickets for last Saturday's home game against the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced a two-for-one offer for season ticket holders.
The 65,500-seat stadium has been one-third empty for many games over the past two seasons. However, a chance to see the team clinch a playoff berth in person was too good to pass up for the thousands of fans who took advantage of the ticket promotion.
This is only the second home game in 2011 to sell out, the first being the Nov. 13 contest against the Steelers. Last Sunday's blackout against the Cardinals was the 10th out of the last 11 games at Paul Brown Stadium.
Sunday's game has been moved to 4:15 p.m . instead of the original 1 p.m . kickoff time so it can reach a wider television audience.
The game is obviously important for the Bengals and is one of the biggest regular season games in years. If they win, they're in the playoffs as the second Wild Card team. However, the game is also vital for the Ravens. Even though they are already in the playoffs, they have yet to clinch the AFC North title. Baltimore and Pittsburgh are both currently 11-4, but the Ravens won both meetings with Pittsburgh this season meaning if they win, they clinch the division title. If they lose, they would need the Steelers to lose.
If the Bengals lose, they still have a chance to advance to the playoffs. For that to happen, they would need the New York Jets and either the Denver Broncos and/or Oakland Raiders to lose.
Here is a list of games Bengals fans need to pay attention to if Cincinnati loses:
Jets at Dolphins at 1 p.m.
Titans at Texans at 1 p.m.
Chiefs at Broncos at 4:15 p.m.
Chargers at Raiders at 4:15 p.m.
