CINCINNATI - The Bengals on Wednesday released the schedule for the team's 2012 training camp, which will be held in Cincinnati for the first time in team history.
Camp will run from Friday July 27 through Sunday Aug. 19.
All practices, which are free and open to the public, will be held at Paul Brown Stadium and on the practice fields west of the stadium.
“This change will provide our hometown fans a unique opportunity to see the 2012 team as it comes together,” said Katie Blackburn, Bengals executive vice-president. “We hope it will also help attract fans from outside Greater Cincinnati to not only training camp, but to all the great summer activities going on downtown.”
Similar to year's past, fans will not have to pay to attend training camp, but will have to pay to park. Parking is available through Hamilton County at the parking lots located adjacent to Paul Brown Stadium and along Mehring Way for $10.
In January the organization announced it was moving camp from Georgetown to Paul Brown Stadium. It will be the first time in the team's 45-year history they will not set up shop an hour or so from home during the first part of the preseason. Cincinnati conducted training camp at Wilmington (Ohio) College from 1968-1996.
Fans are encouraged to first consider attending one of the several practices at Paul Brown Stadium where capacity will not be an issue and no tickets will be required.
Temporary seating will be installed for sessions conducted on practice fields. However, capacity will be limited and tickets, which are free, will be required. Tickets for those sessions will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of each practice beginning at 10 a.m.
The team will issue advisories for sessions which have been filled. Fans arriving at the practice fields without tickets may be able to obtain them two hours before practice. Availability will depend on daily demand and cannot be guaranteed.
