CINCINNATI - The Bengals on Thursday waived cornerback and Cincinnati native Rico Murray.
Murray, who attended Moeller High School before playing college football at Kent State, played in the season opener last season for the Bengals. He was released then re-signed to the practice squad in the postseason.
The Bengals signed Murray to the 2012 offseason roster on Jan. 9. He has 10 games of NFL experience, including one postseason game with the Bengals in 2009.
Earlier Thursday it was reported that the Bengals signed free agent cornerback Terence Newman.
