NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Police say Ohio's former two-time Mr. Football, wanted on rape and other charges, turned himself in to authorities.

Erick Howard, 20, was wanted in connection to a home invasion robbery back in August.

North Canton police said Howard turned himself in around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. He's been charged with aggravated burglary, rape and theft.

Seth Obermiller, 19, and Michael Taylor, 20, have already been arrested for the crime.

Police allege Howard and Obermiller broke into an apartment on Sunford Avenue SE armed with a gun and bound a couple inside the home with duct tape. The report said the apartment was robbed and the woman was sexually assaulted.

It's likely Howard will be arraigned this week in Stark County.

Howard became the first player from Stark County to win the Mr. Football award in 2008. The award is given out by the Associated Press to the state's best overall player. Howard also won the award in 2009, being the second person to do so since it was first presented in 1987.
