CINCINNATI - The Reds announced several transactions before Friday’s series opener at the New York Mets.
Cincinnati placed center fielder Drew Stubbs on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 6, for a strained oblique and recalled utility player Willie Harris from Triple-A Louisville.
Stubbs has not played since last week and could return as soon as the end of next week.
Harris made 19 appearances with the Reds earlier this season after making the opening-day roster. He returned to Louisville May 7 when Miguel Cairo came off the disabled list. With the bats, Harris played 28 games as an infielder and three as an outfielder.
Third baseman Scott Rolen, who has been on the disabled list since May 12, has been optioned to Louisville for a rehab stint before returning to the Reds.
Right-handed pitcher Nick Masset will also stay on the disabled list, as he was transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day DL.
