Forward Jarod Palmer was called up by the Minnesota Wild on Friday and is expected to make his NHL debut against the New York Islanders on Saturday.

The 2010 Miami graduate has four goals and six assists in 26 games with the Houston Aeros of the AHL this season and has 13 goals and 25 assists in 91 professional games.

NHL: San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle recorded a goal and two assists in a two-game span Dec. 11-13.

Boyle assisted on San Jose’s first goal in a 3-2 overtime loss at Chicago on Dec. 11. He notched a goal and a helper in the second period in a game the Sharks eventually lost, 4-3 at Colorado in a shootout on Dec. 13.

AHL: Worcester forward Tommy Wingels has a four-game goal streak, scoring six times and recording an assist in that span.

Wingels, who has scored in each of the Sharks games since Dec. 9, recorded the game-winning goal in three straight games.

Wingels had netted one goal in his first 11 games since being sent down by San Jose, but he has potted nine goals in 10 games since.

Binghamton forward Pat Cannone recorded four assists in a three-game span Dec. 9-13.

Cannone had five helpers in October and November combined, and he already has that many in eight December games.

Manchester goalie Jeff Zatkoff has won his last three starts, allowing just four goals in 185 minutes in that span.

Zatkoff has stopped 90-of-94 shots (.957) in those three games, and he is now 7-1 in his last eight appearances.

Speaking of goalies, Charlie Effinger was called up by Chicago on Dec. 12.

Effinger, who is in his third professional season, has not played in a game since heading to the Wolves.

ECHL: Cincinnati forward Justin Vaive scored his first professional goal at Toledo on Dec. 9.

Vaive’s goal came with 7:37 left in the third period and tied the score at three. Cincinnati would score again 39 seconds later and win, 4-3.

Vaive also notched his first multi-point game as a pro on Dec. 16, picking up a pair of assists in a 7-3 loss to Kalamazoo.

CHL: Tulsa forward Gary Steffes has a six-game point streak, recording two goals and five assists in that stretch.

Steffes has assisted on the game-winning goal in the Oilers’ last two games. Heset up a goal with 12:58 left in the third period of a 4-2 win over Texas on Dec. 13, and he earned a primary helper with 4:20 remaining in a 4-3 win at Arizona on Dec. 16.

Europe: Alleghe forward Greg Hogeboom has scored goals in four straight games, notching four goals and an assist in that span.

Hogeboom scored Alleghe’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Ritten on Dec. 8, and he has a goal in each of the team’s last three wins – all coming by shutout.

Linz forward Pat Leahy rolled up 10 points in a four-game span Nov. 27-Dec. 9.

Leahy picked up three assists in a 6-2 win over Jesenice on Dec. 9.

Forward Mike Kompon joined Munich of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, his third team of the season.

Kompon was scoreless in his first game with Munich after spending time with Lake Erie of the AHL and Allen of the CHL.
