CINCINNATI - Xavier University has the 18th most valuable college basketball program in the nation, according to Forbes magazine.
The Musketeers program, which officially joined the Big East Conference Wednesday, generated a $7.3 million basketball profit in the 2011-2012 season.
Forbes valued the program at $13.7 million, up 6 percent from last year.
The University of Cincinnati did not make the top 20, but the University of Kentucky ranked fourth with an estimated program value of $32.1 million.
Ohio State University ranked fifth at $23.1 million.
The top-ranked program was the University of Louisville, worth $38.5 million, according to Forbes.
