OWEN CO., Ky. -- One man is dead after losing control of his vehicle in Owen County Wednesday.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. at Kentucky 330 and Wild Deer Road.
Kentucky State Police say that Matthew R. Fernandez was traveling east on KY 330 when he lost control of his Toyota passenger car and traveled into the westbound lane. Fernandez's vehicle was then struck on the passenger side by a Ford pickup truck operated by Billy Daniel.
Both cars remained in the roadway after the initial collision.
Fernandez was pronounced deceased at the scene and was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt.
Daniel was transported to Grant Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. Daniel was also reportedly not wearing his seatbelt.
Police are still investigating the crash.
