The Cincinnati Bengals will be without the services of their Pro-Bowl safety Roy Williams for the rest of the season.
The team placed Williams on the reserve/injured list on Friday. He has missed three of the last four games due to a forearm injury suffered September 27 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
To take Williams' spot on the 53-man roster, the team signed wide receiver Maurice Purify from the practice squad. Purify was with the Bengals in the preseason and caught four passes for 46 yards. He was waived September 5 and signed to the practice squad where he played very well.
Purify is a tall physical player who should help the Bengals' passing game after they lost Chris Henry for the season last week.
